Mattresses are the single item we are called about most. Charities will not take them, you cannot fit one in a car, and leaving it at the curb in an HOA community can earn you a letter. We take it from the bedroom and it is gone the same day.

A king mattress is floppy, oversized and has nothing to grip, which is exactly the combination that hurts people on staircases. Add a box spring and a bed frame and it is three trips for two people who are not used to it.
We come in, strip nothing (just have the bedding off), carry the mattress, box spring and frame out from whatever floor it is on, and load it. If it is wet, torn or stained, that is fine. That is usually why it is going.
A mattress and box spring together usually fit inside our $99 minimum load. Several mattresses from a rental turnover or an estate are priced by truck space. Either way you get the number before we lift anything.

We take what regular waste management refuses — mattresses, tires, paint, carpet, hot tubs. The only hard no is asbestos, medical or biohazard waste and explosives, which legally need licensed handling.
Almost always one of these. Tell us which when you call and we will plan around it.
Many retailers will take the old one only on delivery day, and only if it is stripped and accessible. If that did not happen, we come and get it.
Bunk beds and twin mattresses coming out as the room changes. The frames come with them.

Most charitable organisations refuse used mattresses for hygiene and bed bug reasons. It is a sensible policy, even when the mattress looks fine.
Steel springs and frames can be recovered, and we use a recycling route where one is available. Florida does not yet have mattress recycling at scale, so coverage is patchy.
What cannot be recycled goes to a licensed facility. It does not end up dumped at a vacant lot.
